Thirty-two members heard from Sergeant Jeanne Marie Fagan of the Berkeley Heights Police Department’s Community Policing Unit and Detective Anthony Truguero about scams targeting seniors. Fagan also discussed the department’s Lockbox Program and its role in senior safety services.
A question-and-answer session gave members an opportunity to discuss concerns with the officers. Afterward, members gathered to create ice cream sundaes with their favorite toppings, sharing a sweet start to another season of friendship and service.
The club’s fall calendar combines social activities with philanthropy and community involvement. Its November schedule includes a November 9 trip to Wind Creek Casino in Pennsylvania.
